Pointing Syndicate Company horses in stables

How It Works

Pointing Syndicate Company retain a 50% share in each horse offered. The remaining is available to applicants in one 50% or two 25% shares.

Purchase Budget

Horse being trained in Cheshire

We allow a budget of Upto 15k for the horse purchase price but often purchases are below this figure. We feel that this figure allows us to buy a nice horse and meet our benchmark selling price to obtain a realistic return.

The horses will be syndicated to PSC Racing Club and will run in the PSC Racing Club colours.

Fixed Costs

From past experience we budget 20k to cover all costs such as training fees, shoes, minor and standard vet bills, physio, gallop fees, etc to get the horse to its first race.

Extraordinary Vet Bills

In the unlikely event of a major vet bill we retain a contingency fund of 5k. If unused this is paid back after the sale.

In the unlikely event that the horse doesn’t make it to the track, breaks down or dies then unfortunately any monies paid for the horses purchase are lost including any costs Upto that point, that’s the risk with involvement of racehorses and any return of investment isn’t guaranteed.

Sales cost

If the horse is sold through an auction then the auction entry fees and auction commission is deducted from the sale price. The trainers commission is also deducted from the sale price.

The investment figure is payable upfront upon commitment as outlined below:

The horse purchase price budget is 15k, if we go under budget then the difference is returned immediately to syndicate members according to your share stake. The purchase budget for 25% share is 3.75k 50% 7.5k.

Benchmark Sale Price

We work to a target of 60k-75k. If the horse turns out to be exceptional then sales figures are common around 150k which would significantly increase margins.

Calculating forecast net profits using our benchmark sale price for a 50% share *10k-15k. *This is variable as If the horse purchase price is below budget and if the sale price is higher, margins will be significantly increased.

The above gives an indication of how it works, once we have purchased the horses we will have the exact investment figures but we prefer commitment from potential owners prior to purchasing so we can allocate enough investment shares to meet the demand.
